Visit & etiquette

What happens when you come in

A short, practical guide: how to arrive, what to wear, what to tell us, and how to move or cancel a booking.

On the day

Four steps, start to finish

  1. 01

    Arrive a few minutes early

It gives you time to settle and lets the session start on the hour you booked rather than late.

  2. 02

    Tell us what you need

Where it hurts, what you would like avoided, and how firm you want the pressure. Say it before we begin — and again during the session if something does not feel right.

  3. 03

    The treatment

Thai massage is done on a mat in loose clothing; oil treatments use draping, with only the working area uncovered. Pressure is checked as we go.

  4. 04

    Wind down

Sit for a moment before you leave, and drink some water. Expect to feel looser rather than “fixed” — the effect builds over the following day.

What to wear

Comfortable, and easy to move in

Traditional Thai massage
Loose trousers or shorts and a t-shirt. No oil is used, so you stay dressed.
Aromatherapy oil, herbal compress, neck & shoulder
Undress to your comfort level. You are draped with towels throughout and only the working area is uncovered.
Foot reflexology
Only the feet and lower legs need to be accessible.

Jewellery and watches are best removed before the session begins.

Timber joinery, mirror and folded linen in the studio
Loose clothing for mat work; towels are provided for oil treatments.

Before & after

A few things worth knowing

Please tell us before you book

  • Pregnancy, or a recent operation or injury
  • Any medical condition your therapist should work around
  • Skin conditions, allergies, or scents you would rather avoid
  • Medication that affects how your body responds to pressure

After your session

  • Drink water and give yourself an easy hour if you can
  • Mild next-day soreness after firm work is normal and short-lived
  • Rinse off after oil treatments if you prefer to
  • Tell us if something felt wrong — we would rather adjust than guess

Thai massage and spa treatments are relaxation and bodywork services. They are not medical treatment, and no therapist here will diagnose a condition or promise a medical outcome. If you have a health concern, please speak to a doctor.

Changing your booking

Moving or cancelling a session

Appointments are held for you rather than sold on, so please give us as much notice as you can if your plans change. Tell us by email or phone and we will move the booking or release it. Because every session is confirmed by reply before it is booked, nothing is charged until you have agreed the treatment, the length and the time.

  • Change of plans

Contact us as early as you can and we will rearrange the slot.

  • Before booking

Details are confirmed by reply first — you agree the treatment, length and time before anything is booked.

  • Running late

Tell us if you are delayed; the session may need to finish at the original time.
